So Winter is truly upon us.

getting me ready for my
visit to Helsinki next week

way through the ALW hit

A busy time. With the launch

Well, what a summer.
Cookery, concerts and
clapping all round.
I had a fantastic time with
my great friend Barbara
Dickson on Ready Steady Cook
and I was honoured to
receive such applause at my
performance at The McCallum
Theatre in 'One Night Only'
in Palm Springs. My memories
and emotions were stirred as
some of the original team ,
including my leading man
from the original
production, Tommy Korberg
and the writers Bjorn
Ulvaeus and Sir Tim Rice,
watched ‘Chess’ come alive
again. It was just wonderful
to meet the cast afterwards.
However I hear great things
about the autumn; everyone
says it will be one of our
best. I know that for me it
will be a very special
autumn as I celebrate 40
years in the musical
theatre.
I will be launching my new
book, Memories, at a
Platform performance at the
National Theatre on the 23
September in London when I
will be interviewed by Mark
Shenton on my 40 year career
in the theatre.
I am also extremely
delighted to invite you to
join me at my Anniversary
Concert, my only UK solo
concert this year. It’s an
opportunity to celebrate
with me my 40 year career in
the musical theatre. I will
be performing many of your
personal favourites from the
theatre and my albums. Such
a once in a lifetime event
called for a truly
spectacular setting, and in
Breamore Estate you could
not have asked for more.
This very English
Elizabethan country estate
near Salisbury provides the
most beautiful backdrop for
the concert. Bring a picnic
for the evening or make a
weekend of it in the
stunning New Forest. There
are full details about the
event in the news section.
I hope you've been enjoying
the radio show too - I've
had some great guests on and
there are lots more to look
forward to.
Lots of love

2 April 2008
The last few months have
been a fun time - you may
have caught me dancing in
Sport Relief in March. Wow,
Matt Dawson, he's a great
dancer and we had such a
brilliant time, just
laughing constantly. I've
also been putting together a
picture book which will come
out in September, published
by Oberon books. I've been
going down 'memory' lane
looking through my archives
and also thinking about my
anniversary concerts for
later in the year.
There will be an anniversary
concert at The Palladium in
London on 16 November this
year, so put the date in
your diary and news will
follow next month of this
and dates in the UK early in
2009. I'm going to be doing
quite a lot of international
concerts this year too and
dates will follow very soon.
This month I shall be
starting a series at The
Shaw Theatre, of
Conversations with....
interesting people from the
world of musical theatre -
see the news page for the
info. First off Spotlight
on...Don Black on 17 April
at lunchtime. It should be
really good so do come along
if you are in London.
I hope you've been enjoying
the radio show too - I've
had some great guests on and
there are lots more to look
forward to.
Lots of love

Happy New Year to one and
all. I hope you all spent a
very merry Christmas and I
wish you all good things for
2008. Thank you for all your
gifts and cards.
Well 2007 was a fun year and
I'm looking forward to
another good year for us
all. Forty years since my
West End debut, my how time
has flown! And this year I
am planning to celebrate the
fact in a number of
concerts. The first being
announced this week is the
opening night of The
Llangollen International
Eisteddfod on July 8th. What
I love about this festival
is that it is promoting
peace and harmony through a
greater understanding of
world culture via music and
dance. The arts bring us
together from all
nationalities.
One of the great things to
happen towards the end of
2007 was another
international collaboration
- being able to record with
'Secret Garden' (the
Norwegian/Irish instrumental
group) in London, their
beautiful track 'The Things
You Are to Me' on the album
'Inside I'm Singing'. I want
to congratulate them on 4
weeks at number one in
Norway and a quadruple
platinum album! A great
Christmas present.
Wishing everyone much peace
and harmony in 2008.
Love
Elaine
