Elaine is the Vice-President of The Children’s Trust and is proud to have been a celebrity supporter of the charity for 30 years; October is a special month as it marks the 30th Anniversary of the Trust being registered in 1983 officially as a charity.
Elaine spent the afternoon meeting children and families during her visit in September and she was able to see the developments of the site since her last visit. Chief Executive, Dalton Leong introduced her to staff members and she chatted in depth with music therapists, Claire Wood and Jonathan Pool. They explained to her how lots of the children they work with use their passion for music as part of their rehabilitation process after an acquired brain injury. Elaine said it was great to be back and to see the changes, adding:
“When I come here, what I see is focus and a tremendous passion from the staff.
“It’s been wonderful to see the development of the services that are available, not just here but all over the UK. That’s why this charity is now the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and multiple disabilities. It’s fantastic.”
