As Vice President of The Children’s Trust, Elaine was very pleased to be able to attend the special BGC Charity Day on 11 September this year to commemorate the lives lost in the 9/11 World Trade Centre disaster when the city broker lost 658 employees.
This was the fifth Annual Charity Day held by BGC Partners, one of the world’s leading inter-dealer brokers, with all BGC’s profits for the day going to selected charities around the world.
Celebrities were invited to join the traders on the broking floor, raising money on behalf of their charity by conducting real trades over the phone with BGC clients. Elaine was there with other leading names from politics, theatre, TV and sport, negotiating on the phones, closing deals and helping to raise over $10 million worldwide.
This year is the 25th anniversary of The Children’s Trust and the money raised from the BGC day will go towards helping even more children with multiple disabilities and acquired brain injuries and their families.
